Health & Safety Training
From First Aid, CPR and AED training to swimming and lifeguarding to “Babysitting Training”, American Red Cross programs help people lead safer and healthier lives. Programs and materials are developed in collaboration with leading medical authorities. Last Fiscal Year over 4,900 individuals learned lifesaving skills or safety training through classes offered by the Henderson County Chapter.
Our chapter schedules classes each month in Adult CPR/AED, Infant/Child CPR, and First Aid.
Other classes, such as CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Pet First Aid, Wilderness First Aid and Babysitting are also scheduled numerous times each year.
Look to our community partners, Lelia Patterson Center, the Henderson County YMCA and Patton Pool for classes in Water Safety and Lifeguarding.
Tough to fit a class into your schedule? Try our Blended Learning classes. You take part of your class online and then a shorter skills session in the classroom with an instructor. If you like spending less time in the classroom and enjoy learning at your own pace, this may be the program for you. This program is temporarily suspended as we install a new Learning Managment System. Look for it again in December of 2010.
Another time-efficient way of learning CPR is our new Citizen CPR class. One half hour and only a $10 cost! Includes limited practice time. This class is a compression only class and does not satisfy American Red Cross certification requirements and is therefore not appropriate if your job or profession requires certification.
Do you just want a some additional information to help you be better prepared and “Be Red Cross Ready”? Try our First Aid and CPR For Everyone Kit. Includes a DVD and practice tools to provide an introduction to Compression-only CPR and First Aid so you don’t have to be a helpless bystander. The kit is $10 and can be purchased at the Chapter office.
Employers, schools, organizations and groups: Could your team benefit from health and safety training? If you have 6 or more people that could form a class, we can bring the class to you. Please call our office at (828) 693-5605 to schedule a time for an instructor to come to your location and provide training. You provide the participants, the space for class and we can bring the rest. Health and Safety Training- To Go! Contact us for more information or to schedule your training!
